I am unable to update the firmware on EM7305 with the following one click updater on Windows 10:
9999999_9902674_SWI9X15C_05.05.78.00_00_GENEU-4G_005.029_000-field.exe
I get the following:
FDT version: 1.0.1708.0
Awaiting suitable port or adapter …
Switching to boot & hold mode …
Disabling selective suspend …
Awaiting download port …
Enabling selective suspend …
Firmware download failed.
Primary error code: 82 - Failed in checking modem mode.
Secondary error code: 5 - Neither NDIS adapter nor serial port is available.
Device error code: 0x0 - Unknown device error code.
How do I resolve this? Skylight shows the current firmware as follows:
The Windows methods all failed for me. I am trying to flash on Linux now. However I am getting the following error:
SetImagePreferences: Failed to unpack SetImagesPreference, return code : 119
Finally managed to update the firmware on Windows 10. Here are my steps:
When EM7305 (HW Rev 1.0, VID_1199&PID_9063) was first installed, Windows 10 installed it’s own drivers. It was enumerated as EM7305 under Network adapters and EM7305 with an exclamation mark under Other devices.
Installing the EM7305 drivers from Sierra website did not help either. When I checked the .inf files in the driver installation directory I noticed that there were no descriptors for PID_9063. The drivers were installed at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Sierra Wireless Inc\Driver Package\Drivers
After installing the above drivers, the EM7305 which was initially at Other devices was enumerated under Modems as Sierra Wireless WWAN Modem. COM port became available after this. You will be able to see this under Properties.
Ran the one click updater again and this time it worked with the following output:
FDT version: 1.0.1708.0
Awaiting suitable port or adapter …
Switching to streaming mode …
Downloading images …
Writing image -
Flashing image
Awaiting adapter …
Checking update status …
Enabling selective suspend …
Firmware image download succeeded.
Final Firmware update succeeded.
