RV55 Cant access Ace Manager

trying to connect to an RV55 with ethernet cable from PC
Tried 192.168.13.31:9191 and 192.168.13.31:9443
I can connect if i put the device into recovry mode and load firmware, but once the firmware is complete and says successful - Rebooting… the web page interface never goes back to the login page and i cant connect to the device.
using windows cmd i can use command arp -a and see IP of the device is 192.268.13.31
The device has a soild green power light and both the netowrk and signal are flashing red together at the same time.

I have tried and i am able to connect to a new device.

@craig.b,

What is your Windows device’s IP address (Please include the output from ipconfig /all)?

What does your Windows device’s routing table look like (Please include the output from route print)?

Are you able to ping the device (If not, please include the output of ping 192.168.13.31)?

Given you said you can load firmware, I think that means you no longer have a factory config, but I am not certain of that. If you have any questions about whether it has been returned for a default factory config, I would remove power, Press and hold the reset button, then apply power and wait for the power LED to flash Red. Once that has happened, you will be sure that the settings are not powering the ethernet port off. This is detailed in the hardware user’s guide’s section Reset the RV55 Router to Factory Default Settings

Do you know which version of the firmware you are loading? I assume 4.18 given the RV55 and firmware load, but please include that in your response.

Hi @craig.b,

Welcome to our community!

  1. You mentioned that you couldn’t access RV55 via Ethernet—have you tried accessing it through a USB cable?

Please try using the USB and see if you can access it that way. When you plug the USB from the device into the computer, do you see any interface appear like the one in the attached image?

serial

  1. Please share a screenshot of the Network Adapters and Ports sections under Device Manager with me.

  2. If it shows an IP address like the one in my screenshot, then when you access https://192.168.14.31:9443/, what screen appears? Please share a screenshot with me

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. I did try with a USB cable.
My PC did not recognise the device, nothing new appeared in device maanger, and i also tried 192.168.14.31:9443 but had no luck.
i dont get another ethernet connection appear when i plug the device in with USB, however i do get another ethernet connection when using an ethernet cable.

Maybe the USB cable i tried was only a charging cable and not data, it did look thin. I will look for another cable to test with.

HI,

I started loading v4.16 and 4.14 using the recovery mode with same results. iread something about 4.14 having netowrk issues, I then decided to go back to v4.13

I dont feel comforatable posting my IP info here but i can share;

To recover the router:
• Update ALEOS using the Recovery mode interface. Once the new ALEOS version is successfully uploaded and
installed, the router reboots and exits recovery mode. When the process is complete, the ACEmanager login
screen appears.

The Ace manager login screen never appears, but the devices flashing LEDs change from recovery mode back to the orginal fault. Green power, flashing red Network and Signal.

If I connect the RV55 to our office network, the network light goes solid green and activity flashes occasionally. Signal stays red.

I have held reset button in, then powered on device untill red falshing power led and released the button.
Still not able to configure with the web interface, it also doesnt connect to a cell provider, which i s why i need access to configure the device.

This is going to sound crazy, but have you tried a lower rated cable? I ran into this problem yesterday on a non-Semtech product where it would not connect when a CAT-8 cable was used, but was just fine with a CAT-5e and/or CAT-6 cable.

I just wanted to make sure you are getting a reset to factory. You are pressing and holding the reset button until the power LED flashes Red (not amber) which typically takes about 7-12 seconds for my devices.

HI, Yes after the recovery mode and firmware update, I performed the factory reset, holding the reset button untill lights first flashed green, then flashed red.

Bit odd how i can communicate with it in recovery mode, but not after its been rebooted.
The cable I was using was a CAT-5e by the looks of it, although i didnt check.

I appreciate you helping me out. ive never had an issue in the past bringing up the web interface.

Thanks, Craig.
