RV55 bridge ethernet/wifi

Hello,

I have an RV55 router that I updated to Aleos 4.15.0. I’d like to connect the RV55 to the office WiFi network and have the ethernet port bridged on the same network, so that both the RV55 and the ethernet connected device get an IP address from the office WiFi DHCP server.

I tried to configure Wifi client + ip passthrough + DMZ without any success. Could you indicate me the way to proceed?

Thanks,

Mathieu

Hi m.othacehe,

I just want to make your topology clear to me. Please confirm if I’m right:

  1. You have a device(A) which you want to connect to RV50 directly through ethernet port
  2. Your RV50 is configured as wifi client and obtain IP from Wifi DHCP server
  3. You want your device(A) to have an IP in the same subnet as your RV50.

Thanks,

Hello jerdung,

That’s right, to be completely exact:

  • I have two devices (A) and (B) connected on the ethernet port of the RV55.
  • The RV55 is configured as a wifi client and obtains an IP from the WiFi DHCP server (D).
  • I want the devices (A) and (B) to have an IP from (D)

Thanks,

Mathieu

Hi m.othacehe,

Your network topology cannot be configured because IP Passthrough is only available on the WAN cellular interface. This is mentioned on page 150 of Configuration User Guide.

Thanks,

Hi jerdung,

Right, thanks for pointing that out. I’ll then try to configure the RV55 DHCP in “Server” mode and use a port forwarding to redirect incoming packets to the ethernet plugged devices (A) and (B).

Thanks,

Mathieu
