RV50X not sending SMS

My RV50X is not sending out texts,.I have tried to send it directly from the unit, using the quick test and attached is what is in the log. I was on tech support for 2 hours with ATT yesterday making sure the sim was functional, but they never did confirm that SMS was enabled. If that is the issue so be it, but I need confirmation for our client, so I don’t keep throwing time and effort at this issue. Any feedback is welcome. The phone number has been blanked out on purpose fyi. Attached are the lines before and after. There is a failure code, but I have not been able to find out what it means. Thanks!

Hi @bpage ,
Which SMS mode did you use for Quick test?

Apr 1 15:15:53 info ALEOS_CELL_RadioTask: Sending Reply SMS - Size 46 - Format CDMA

It looks like the GW is setting Password only. In Control Only mode, you can send SMS commands to an AirLink gateway, but you cannot send non-command (gateway) SMS messages. Please change to Outbound Only then try again
I passed to take Quick test on our device

Note: You should click Apply button after inserting the phone number then press Quick test button
Please share me if you have any concerns. Help us tick “Solution” if it is useful. It might be beneficial to someone getting the question
Thanks

The sms mode was set to control and gateway. I will try outbound only.

I basically get the same entries in the log when I try outbound only. No text at my phone. Thanks,

Hi @bpage,
As my previous comment, Quick test doesn’t require any specific configuration. Just set SMS mode to Outbound only and make sure your SIM is enabled SMS. Can you please check with your operator on this SIM
Which FW are you using on the GW. I passed the quick test function on Aleos 4.13
Can you enter AT command and share the response of below
AT*SMSM2M=“1XXXXXX testSMS” (1XXX is destination)
Thanks

Sierra tech support got back to me, and from looking at the configuration and logs, they say it is a SIM issue, most likely SMS is not enabled. They tried to send it a sms and it was supposed to respond and it didn’t. They said the configuration looked correct, so that it is most likely the SIM.
