still seems a little incomplete

the reasons I am trying these commands is to try an establish if I am connect to LTE-M, NB-IOT or GPRS? How to I work that out?

AT!GSTATUS has shows it is in LTE mode

Yes, but that does not tell me if it is using LTE-M or NB-IOT… is there anyway of knowing that? LTE covers both…

you can use AT!SELCIOT to set to LTE-M only and see if it can register network
