If there is not an internal physical eUICC chip in the modem, is it possible to put/write the provisioning profile on a read/write able SIM card somehow?
You need to check with your network operator how to set the profile in the physical sim card
But i am not sure if they will allow you to set this
Do you know if something like https://esim.me/ would work with older Sierra devices? Or is it possible to do something similar using Sierra Sim Tool Kit?
Is your link for esim instead of physical sim card?
esim.me is supposed to be a physical sim card giving eSIM functionality to e device originally without it.
But is it possible to put ISP profile in the card using Sierra device and SW?
Have you checked with network operator on how to do this?
For example, can you change the profile by at+csim command ?
Sure, but first I have to have the profile on the sim card. The question still stands is there any Sierra means for doing it. Putting the profile on a blanck eSIM card.
you can try AT+CSIM command
I remember this command can activate the profile in eSIM
As jyijyi mentioned, you need an LPA to provision the eUICC.
Example with an open source application can be found here: How to use an eSIM in Linux? | Blog | Techship
Tested with e.g. Semtech MC7421
Excelent. Thanks.
Do you also know if this works with an older MC7700/MC7710 device? Or is the procedure generic and can be done using any eUICC read/write capable card device?
i saw the MC77x0 supports AT+CSIM
but definitely you need to make some real test
Thanks. I’ll try. I dont have the device available right now, but will have it later.
One more a bit odd thing. Well - not so odd, because this is related to chinese gadgets.
I got three blank eUICC cards. Two of them seem to have same ICCID and one has it filled with F-letters.
I suppose this does not work. ICCID has to be unique. Right or wrong?
Or does the system rely on ATR code?
have you checked with your network operator or sim card vendor?
The cards are white blank cards and they are not related to any network provider and I do not expect anything from the chinese seller. Contacting them would be waste of time.
Is it ICCID or ATR the system uses to identify user? Or are both codes important?

Seems to be, that ATR can be same and often will be same between different cards, but ICCID should be unique.

Yet more information: ICCID seems to be related to the profile. It might be, the code on the card is not relevant at all.
not sure where you can get these same ICCID card…
normally they should have unique number
