Hi All
I have a bunch of EM7430 cards that just keep looping with the Configuring your broadband device in the lower right corner on each startup
sometimes it gets to “success” and asks to reboot and other times the windows just disappears part way through
Inserting an active sim card also triggers the same popup but eventually it just comes up with no service
It seems to be the same with both Win10 and win11
it appears that it is failing to load the correct firmware, is there a way for me to load the correct firmware on these cards on another machine?
I probably have about 30 of these cards that do the same thing now and I would like to try and get to the bottom of it
Cheers

Thanks for your reply
I am using that driver yes and I am pretty sure that I have tried download files of that firmware page and tried them but that was quite some time ago, when I first started experiencing the issue
If you scroll to the bottom of that firmware page there is one listed as telstra, that is the one I was trying to install as that is the same company as the provider
I am located in Australia, there are a number of carriers but Telstra is the biggest and that is the one I would like to install however I have found most of the time if I install a sim card the from another carrier I have much more success, it seems to always fail with a telstra sim

you can use tera term to open modem port and check the followings:
AT!ENTERCND="A710"
ATI3
aT!IMPREF?
AT+cpin?
aT!PCINFO?
AT+CFUN?
AT!GSTATUS?
AT!SELRAT?
AT!BAND?
at+Cgdcont?
Can you direct me to more info on how to do this?
So I have installed TeraTerm and tried to connect to it, the DM port just gives me a blinking cursor and I can not do anything and the NMEA Port just keeps scrolling with the following:
$GPVTG,T,M,N,K,N*2C
$GPGSA,A,1,*1E
$GPGGA,0,66
$GPRMC,V,N 53
Any pointers on what to do next?

can you see the modem port in device manager?
you can open Configuration.ini and change “USBCOMP=8” and run the driver setup again
this is what I see in Device Manager

then you might need to reinstall the USB driver:
https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/airprime-em_mc-series-windows-drivers-qmi-build-5087/#sthash.sgbCkecj.dpbs
And create a configuration.ini file with “USBCOMP=8”
I don’t see there is modem port enumerated in your module, try this:
download the GenericDriverSetup_5087.exe from SOURCE website
open a folder and put GenericDriverSetup_5087.exe and Configuration.ini together
open Configuration.ini and add the following:
[Default Values]
CHECKFORDEVICE=0
LOCATIONDRIVER=1
WIN8LOCATION=1
USBCOMP=99
now install the driver again
Or you can see more information here:
what is missing from device manager that I should be looking for?

Yes, there is modem port in above case
so modem port is NMEA Port?

no, modem port is for entering AT command, not NMEA port
so what is the modem port called?
which port do I connect to in tera term?

it is called “AT command port”
You can open the modem port in device manager to see the port number.
ok so it is com4 then
so when I open com4 with teraterm and type AT and enter I get back an OK prompt
How do I display the information you showed in your post above?

you can type ATE1 and enter key so that you can see what you have typed.
