DW5811e / EM7455 Problem with Windows 11 - failure "insert sim"

Hello,

i installed a used "DM5811e card into my DELL notebook and did a firmware upgrade to the latest version of the card and install the original Dell drivers:
DW5811e-Qualcomm-Snapdragon-X7-LTE-and-GPS-driver_CC17M_WIN_7.42.4705.501_A02

than I updated the drivers with the Sierra Generic drivers:
GenericDriverSetup_8.14.5087.0005

It looks good so far, but Windows 11 tells me to “Insert SIM card”… but my SIM card is inside.
I used another DW5811e card already in the same computer with Windows 10, so basically my simcard should work fine with the notebook. I am living here in Austria (Europe).

do you have any hint what i can do do get this to work?

With that the PRI Part Number and Revision and Customer also changed to Generic once.
Don’t know if this is now “better” or not but still “insert sim” failure.

What is the return of the followings?

Then it could be hardware issue on sim slot?
Are you able to test another sim slot?

sadly on my Dell Latitude E7470 i have just one SIM card slot.
also this slot worked with the same SIM card before i updated to Windows 11 and before i changed the WWAN module.

maybe the sim card slot itself needs some drivers?
Or maybe there is a problem with the Generic Version?

No, the sim slot does not need driver .

maybe a problem with the Carrier PRI version?
i override the OEM PRI before with that:

maybe he didn’t like this?

belong the existing one:

hm i found out, that windows still use the old drivers instead of the new one…
maybe this could be a problem?
i tried manually to update the drivers to the latest generic once but than i got “device can’t start Code 10)”

You can install win10 in virtual machine to verify
If it does not work, that means this is hardware issue on sim slot

i found a newer driver on DELL website.
i will try this one now first:

Dell-Wireless-5811e-and-Qualcomm-Snapdragon-X7-LTE_97FX1_WIN_7.54.4799.502_A06_02

maybe this will fix it as on Dell website there is written:
On systems with Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 operating system, Microsoft inbox driver for mobile broadband card is present by design. The Dell driver package must be installed to enable the mobile broadband function and GNSS.

this is inside the configuration.ini file

[Default Values]
FWUPDATE=AUTO
LOCATIONDRIVER=1
WIN8LOCATION=1
GPSRADIO=2
SS=1
SILENT=0
LOG=1
USBCOMP=0
Orange=002.022_000
Swisscom=002.022_000
Telefonica=002.022_000

ok i really don’t know what i have done wrong but now i can’t connect anymore to the card.
the COM ports are missing.
i just see the QDLoader Port for the installation time but after that, it dissapears and the DM and
NMEA is not there. Also Modem is not there anymore.

maybe cause the firmware is the latest and the Dell driver doesn’t support it?
i also tried now again a older driver version, but can’t get it back to work… what the hell…

okey,
this did the trick:

USBCOMP has to be changed from 0 to 8.

[Default Values]
FWUPDATE=AUTO
LOCATIONDRIVER=1
WIN8LOCATION=1
GPSRADIO=2
SS=1
SILENT=0
LOG=1
USBCOMP=8
Orange=002.022_000
Swisscom=002.022_000
Telefonica=002.022_000

WHAT THE FUCK!!!
it is working now!

this solved it!

i placed 4 papers under the sim and now the SIM has contact and is working…
