i installed a used "DM5811e card into my DELL notebook and did a firmware upgrade to the latest version of the card and install the original Dell drivers:
DW5811e-Qualcomm-Snapdragon-X7-LTE-and-GPS-driver_CC17M_WIN_7.42.4705.501_A02
than I updated the drivers with the Sierra Generic drivers:
GenericDriverSetup_8.14.5087.0005
It looks good so far, but Windows 11 tells me to “Insert SIM card”… but my SIM card is inside.
I used another DW5811e card already in the same computer with Windows 10, so basically my simcard should work fine with the notebook. I am living here in Austria (Europe).
do you have any hint what i can do do get this to work?

With that the PRI Part Number and Revision and Customer also changed to Generic once.
Don’t know if this is now “better” or not but still “insert sim” failure.
sadly on my Dell Latitude E7470 i have just one SIM card slot.
also this slot worked with the same SIM card before i updated to Windows 11 and before i changed the WWAN module.
maybe the sim card slot itself needs some drivers?
Or maybe there is a problem with the Generic Version?
hm i found out, that windows still use the old drivers instead of the new one…
maybe this could be a problem?
i tried manually to update the drivers to the latest generic once but than i got “device can’t start Code 10)”
maybe this will fix it as on Dell website there is written:
On systems with Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 operating system, Microsoft inbox driver for mobile broadband card is present by design. The Dell driver package must be installed to enable the mobile broadband function and GNSS.
ok i really don’t know what i have done wrong but now i can’t connect anymore to the card.
the COM ports are missing.
i just see the QDLoader Port for the installation time but after that, it dissapears and the DM and
NMEA is not there. Also Modem is not there anymore.
maybe cause the firmware is the latest and the Dell driver doesn’t support it?
i also tried now again a older driver version, but can’t get it back to work… what the hell…
