AirLink MP70 LTE-A and LTE-A Pro Hardware Differences

Hello,

Can anyone clarify a technical detail regarding the MP70 LTE-A and MP70 LTE-A Pro models?

Specifically, I would like to know if there are any hardware differences between the two models, aside from the cellular modem (i.e. MC7455 vs. EM7565). For example, are there differences in processing power, memory, Wi-Fi performance, or other non-modem-related components?

My primary interest is to confirm whether replacing the modem in the LTE-A version with an EM7565 would result in performance parity with the LTE-A Pro model, or if there are any other factors that differentiate the two devices.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi @nicolae_12,

Welcome to our community!

You can refer to the Transmit Power between those two modules in the AirLink MP70 Series Hardware User Guide on pages 45 and 56 at the following link: https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airlink/hardware_reference_docs/airlink_mp_series_userguide/#sthash.ior5mPeB.dpbs

Additionally, please refer to the attached AirLink MP70 Datasheet:
SierraWireless_AirLink_MP70_Datasheet.pdf (1.2 MB)

Moreover, Sierra/Semtech does not recommend manually replacing modules inside AirLink devices. If you must replace the internal module, please contact the nearest distributor for assistance.

Thanks,
