3G Lock - Access 3G APN Failing in ALEOS ver 4.4.2 and above

Aleos 3.5 can do this without issue.

Set modem to connect to “3G North America”
Set APN to company’s Private 3G APN

Modem GX 440 with Aleos 4.3.5 WILL connect in this configuration.

Modem GX 440 with Aleos 4.4.2 WILL NOT connect in this configuration.

Modem GX 450 with Aleos 4.5.1 WILL NOT connect in this configuration.

It looks like the modem doesn’t know it’s subscribed to our APN service, even though Tier 2 guys can See the APN as being assigned to these SIM cards.

The first suggestion that I would do in each of these cases is to try the default AT&T APN, if possible. Blank the user-entered APN and verify that these units can go on air without any difficulty while the modem is set to connect to “3G North America”.

Please note that an adjustment to the ‘rate plan’ assigned to the modems may be needed by AT&T if the default AT&T APN does allow the modems to connect while locked to 3G.
