XR80 Modem or Passthru modem

Is it possible to put an XR80 into a passthru or modem mode? Basically just use the XR80 as a modem with another router behind it. Trying to work on some different type of configuration, but would like to use a router behind the XR80 instead of using the XR80 for my routing.

Hi @jpalsi,

IPv4 Passthrough feature allows a LAN client to use the device Cellular WAN IP. This is useful if the LAN client is acting a a server for the internet (e.g. a web server).

The following are the steps to configure IPv4 passthrough on XR80.

Please log in to the router at 192.168.1.1

  1. Get on air with ipv4 (You can check by going to Status/ Monitoring > WAN)
  2. Go to Networking → General → WAN services
  3. Click 3 dots on IPv4
  4. Go down to IPv4 Passthrough, and select an Interface (only Ethernet allowed)
  5. Wait for LAN client device to obtain the WAN IP.

Thanks,

Would this allow me to use another router, say a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter, behind the XR80? I’m hoping to test using the ER as an endpoint for an IPSEC tunnel back to my main network.
I have tried using the XR80 to be the endpoint, but performance it BAD. Just trying to test right now.

Hi @jpalsi,

Could you please follow these steps, if you encounter any issues or have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,
