WP7702 Not Detected on Windows 11 (Dell Laptop) - Driver Compatibility Issue

Title: WP7702 Not Detected on Windows 11 (Dell Laptop) - Driver Compatibility Issue

Hi team,

I’m trying to connect a Sierra Wireless WP7702 module to my Windows 11 (Dell laptop) using USB. I’ve downloaded and installed the latest USB drivers from the Sierra Wireless website (build 4836, 5807 , but the device is still not being detected.

System Details:

  • OS: Windows 11 Enterprise (up to date)
  • Laptop: Dell Inspiron / Latitude (model: [Latitude 7420])
  • Module: WP7702
  • Connection: Via USB (using mangOH or dev board)

What I Tried:

  • Installed the official Sierra Wireless USB drivers (build 4836, 5807)
  • Rebooted the system after installation
  • Tried multiple USB ports and different cables (confirmed data+power)
  • Powered the WP7702 module externally[date=2025-04-10 timezone=“Asia/Calcutta”]
  • Checked Device Manager (shows either “Unknown device” or nothing at all when connected)
  • Tried the same setup on Linux — still getting USB enumeration errors (error -71)

Request:

  • Is there a Windows 11-compatible version of the Sierra Wireless USB drivers?
  • Any guidance on getting the WP7702 recognized on Windows 11?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Srini

What did you see in dmesg in linux when connect the module?

Have you monitored uart2 for the linux console?
