I found that these modems I got with development boards (“Yellow”) have embedded SIM-cards with Sierra Wireless profile downloaded.
Is it possible to download customer SIM-profile to it? If so, do you have example how to do this?
Thank you. Then, I suppose, we can order modules without embedded SIM. We already have agreement with Telenor.
By the way, if our SIM-card IC supports downloading of new profiles remotely, is it possible to initiate this via the modem?
Current modem we using cannot do this, but SIM-card has ability to store several profiles.
As I know, the WP76/77 has Sierra eSIM SGP.02 standard with Semtech connectivity profile loaded (depending on the SKU), the SIM cannot change the profile.
you can use it only as is with the Semtech connectivity plan.
you can add external eSIM in plastic or embedded SIM FF and load the profile using the lpac package (I don’t know if it will able to install internally, but for an external Linux host, I know that it works for WP76).
