Does it works on Windows Desktop machine?
Can you check by send AT cmd in Windows desktop?

ati3
AT!ENTERCND=“password” (use the right password)
AT!UDPID?

Also, how you install the driver?

Thx

Hi Lotam!!!

Yes it’s working find on my win7 desktop…

I am trying to make it work on a Toradex T20 Colibri PCB…

According to them i have to copy all the dll file on a created folder on the Flash disk named ‘‘System’’…

developer.toradex.com/knowledge- … ll-drivers

My procedure:

  • I execute the ‘‘USB_STANDARDSDK_600_ARMV4I_2.00’’ file and the ‘‘NDIS_USB_STANDARDSDK_600_ARMV4I_2.00’’ file.

  • I copy all the dll files( in the release folder) on a created folder on the Flash disk named ‘‘System’’…

It’s always showing : ‘‘Unidentified USB Device:Enter the name of the driver for this USB device: Driver Name:’’

I have writed with \FlashDisk\System\swivsp.dll with or without path and swivspRnis.dll also but no success…

Note: the Regfile was modified after executing the cab file…

Can be an issue with the USB of the Toradex… look at the link!!!

developer.toradex.com/knowledge- … -on-the-go

I can see that 2 programs has been install:
-Sierra Wireless Minicard NDIS USB
-Sierra Wireless Minicard Virtual Serial Port

On Dial up connection I can see SW Modem2 and SW MuxModem…

Cheers!!!

Hi dannyboyle,

Thanks for testing.
Can you use CAB installer: COMP_STANDARDSDK_600_ARMV4I_2.00.cab or NDIS_COMP_STANDARDSDK_600_ARMV4I_2.00.cab?

MC8705 is USB Composite device, so the “COMP” version will works.
If you want to use dll/reg, please grab the one called “swicomp”.

The one with “NDIS” keywords is to enumerate the ethernet adapter, in case you want to use it.

Hope this helps.
Thanks

Thanks again!!!

I finaly make it work with the composite Driver…

My ethernet adapter is enable but i am unable to renew my DHCP address???

Any suggestion to configure my register for???

Cheers!!

Hi dannyboyle,

The NDIS should get DHCP automatically after you requested data connection.

Please configure the APN and initial the data session via AT command sent to SWI8: port.
AT+CGDCONT=1,“IP”,“APN for that SIM
AT!SCACT=1,1

Thanks

I have tried those command but no success… Might be an issue with my Toradex CPU Board… will double check.

My concern now is to retrieve the position of the GPS from the MC8705 on CE 7.

I try some command on the Sierra Term apps but only OK answer back appear.

Any suggestion???

Thanks again!!!

Which command you tested? And in what case you want to use the GPS feature? (external GPS app or just to get the location info?)

GPS function depends highly the sky condition… What you observed exactly?

Hi Lotam!!!

My GPS is working on the Sierra terminal… Can initialise and see the position…

How can I retrieve the info… we cannot connect to a SWI8 via a terminal or any terminal application… we are trying to write a script…

Cheers!
