Unable to Update Firmware on EM7305

Finally managed to update the firmware on Windows 10. Here are my steps:

  1. When EM7305 (HW Rev 1.0, VID_1199&PID_9063) was first installed, Windows 10 installed it’s own drivers. It was enumerated as EM7305 under Network adapters and EM7305 with an exclamation mark under Other devices.

  2. Installing the EM7305 drivers from Sierra website did not help either. When I checked the .inf files in the driver installation directory I noticed that there were no descriptors for PID_9063. The drivers were installed at:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Sierra Wireless Inc\Driver Package\Drivers

  3. I searched for drivers which had descriptors for VID_1199&PID_9063 and found them for Toshiba Portege Z10t-A1102L at:

  1. After installing the above drivers, the EM7305 which was initially at Other devices was enumerated under Modems as Sierra Wireless WWAN Modem. COM port became available after this. You will be able to see this under Properties.

  2. Ran the one click updater again and this time it worked with the following output:
