Hi Team,
While testing we are facing following two primary issue with modem EM7565:
1)Throughput Issue:
2)We are not able to get Modem driver for winodow XP(which is helpful for debugging at UE side)
Throughput Issue:
We are using EM7565 modem for our testing with band 48 and 41 , and we are facing issue with throughput issue on air and cable network too. could you please suggest on it we hardly cross 20MBps in UDP with this modem. Is there any specific way to get test throughput on this module. On other side with comercial UE + other modem on same setup we could get healthy throughput.
About the XP driver:
Why do you want a driver for XP? What is your target platform, PC or an embedded device?
What driver do you use currently?
Tput:
Are you having tput issue with UL or DL?
What do you mean “cable network” are you testing with a callbox? You should be getting near theoretical max tput with a callbox.
“On other side with commercial UE”
Are you testing on the same platform? Is the other modem a SWI modem too?
I’d start sorting out your driver issue.
Then check whether your signal is good.
At!gstatus?
Hi James,
I am using tools such as QXDM license version on one dedicated machine , to get the UE side logs for that purpose I need EM7565 modem driver to access seria console through Win XP machine.
Currently I am facing tput issue in both DL/UL but more concentration on DL. Its look to be that DL issue dominate the UL tput too.
Yes I am using same platform(LTE module which is embedded device-kind of mobile cell) for both comercial UE and EM 57565.
I have seen more fluctuation in modem reporting UL signal parameter compare to comercial UE.
On window 7 it works fine for Win XP it unable to locate the driver for modem please find aatach screenshot for same
well reading the driver description we only support win7+
“Below are the available Windows 7/ Windows 8 /Windows 10 Driver Package for MC Series Modules.”
So you are running QXDM on the XP?
QXDM also supports connection through a socket.
for example:
on linux I’m running UART to socket app (remserial) this is the client and QXDM / QPST is the server
./remseriali386 -r “$WindowsIP” -p “$Port” -s “115200 raw” “$ModemDM”
Hi James,
For UDP I am pumpring around 35-40Mbps but at UE side I could get around 15-20 Mbps. I am using iperf
And one more observation I found today for FDD band 3 its work as per expectations DL around 72 Mbps (TCP) and UL 20 Mbps (TCP) on 10Mhz
In TDD we are facing this issue , its looks to be more pkt drop in TDD even though the ULSINR and overall CQI reported by UE for serving cell is pretty good.
Please find below output for !gstatus on FDD where I could get good throughput
How much tput do you expect?
Do you know the theoretical max the NTWK can provide?
Why do you think your tput is low?
Do you have another device to compare to?
Hi James,
On 10Mhz band 41 TDD we are expecting 50+ TCP DL and 4Mbps UL. Which is we currently getting on comercial UE (Samsung) also on the other Sierra Wirless modem too which we used for our testing.
Basically our target is Band:48 on theire also we are facing same issue with EM7565.
Thanks,
Prafull
Hi James,
Any update on this…?
One more query , while debugging this issue one of the open source , I came across same issue, related to CA .
Is this issue related to CA …? If Yes can you please give me a detail about this…?
also I tried to execute at!lteca=?.. but its not implemented.
Is this module support such functionalityu or not…?
Also I am not able to execute the at!antsel? to check the antenaa configuration… can you please help me with that…please find below my hardware details…
CA is controlled by the NTWK. In your case CA is not available.
=== antsel: you need to enter at!entercnd=“A710”
at!entercnd=“A710”
OK
at!antsel?
No Setting
OK
“On 10Mhz band 41 TDD we are expecting 50+ TCP DL and 4Mbps UL.”
This is very close to the theoretical max… Not bad on the live NTWK.
I quickly tested UDP DL on the CMW500 with 10Mhz BW B41. I didn’t know the configuration , I just picked the highest DL (config 4 ) which is around 51Mbps on the CMW.
With UDP I was getting 51Mbps in DL on the server side (PC)

I’d upgrade the FW to the latest 1.8.4.00. I don’t think this is a FW issue though.
To debug this issue further we’d need DM logs, but this is beyond the scope of forum support.
If you purchased the modems though our distributor, please contact them.
Hi James,
Can you give me the procedure, to collect DM logs. So i can proceed with distributor for further assistance.
We have QXDM to collect UE specific logs. Is the DM logs something which can be collected using QXDM software ?
Also can you please provide me the result with TDD config:2 , special subframe config:7 on Band:41 10Mhz. So that we are testing the same config.
Thanks,
Prafull
