Hello
I am looking to send tcp commands to a device plugged into the Ethernet port of the RV-50x.
for example
echo “clock?” | nc -q1 [router ip address] [connected device tcp port]
I currently have a Raspberry pi in place that is handling this but I am wondering if the RV50x could do this without any extra hardware.
I have tried playing with AT(Telnet) but that is just for AT commands locally.
I tried with some port forwarding settings but again no luck.
Any pointers would be most appreciated.
Hi @ashley1,
Welcome to our community!
- If you want to remotely access a device connected via Ethernet to the RV50X, have you followed the port forwarding configuration exactly as described on page 187 of the AirLink RV50X Software Configuration Guide?
You can find the ALEOS 4.17.1 Software Configuration User Guide for AirLink RV50X at the following link: source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airlink/software_reference_docs/airlink-rv-series—configuration-guide/
- How did you configure port forwarding? Please share the log file and template file from the RV50X with me.
- Additionally, please ensure that your gateway has a public IP from the mobile service provider for remote access.
Thanks,
