RV55 Firmware Error: Certificate Verification Failed-Unable to get Local issuer ceritifcate

I am trying to upgrade the firmware on a RV55 router. However, every time I attempt to upgrade I get the following error: Certificate Verification Failed-Unable to get Local issuer ceritifcate. I have followed the troubleshooting steps in the user manual but nothing has worked. I need to performed the upgrade so that the router is no longer vulnerable to CVE’s. What ALEOS version is RV55 currently running, and which ALEOS version do you want to upgrade to?

Have you followed the instructions for updating the ALEOS Software and Radio Module Firmware from pages 26 to 32 of the AirLink RV55 Series Software Configuration Guide?

Note: Upgrading from ALEOS 4.15.x and earlier releases to 4.17.0 is not directly supported. AirLink RV55 routers must be upgraded to ALEOS 4.16.x before upgrading to ALEOS 4.17.0.

I had a “certificate verification failed” error pop up when I was testing out an Identity Verification API for one of my projects (you might find it handy too: https://www.idanalyzer.com. It made me wonder if the root cause could be related to outdated firmware or certificate incompatibility. Have you tried the two-step firmware upgrade mentioned in the guide? When I was updating mine, jumping directly to 4.17.0 caused issues, but doing 4.16.x first smoothed things out. Also, double-check that all the steps in the guide are followed precisely—it’s surprising how one little detail can mess up the process.
