I tried updating the FW to 4.12.0 OTA on two RV50 devices and both failed, and now the devices are unresponsive. The power LED comes on but no other LEDs light up ever. Factory reset doesn’t change this. Cannot connect via ACEmanager OTA, USB, or direct Ethernet, and cannot ping the devices.
Same issue here, tried updating to 4.12 and one RV50 worked, the other never came back? Called sierra for support and was told modem was out of warranty. Got no help at all.
Tried factory reset, but nothing works. Just get a green power light and no other LEDs. Surely there is a way to recover the modem after a failed firmware upgrade? My prior ALEOS was 4.5, so the recovery mode is not available.
Anyone have any suggestions, other than throwing the modem in the trash?
Please note that the firmware update can take up to 30 minutes to complete. The update is completed when “Install application” job on AVMS server is set to finished.
In case your gateway is bricked, please try these step below to recovery it:
Use an Ethernet cable to connect the gateway to your computer. (Recovery mode is
not supported on USBnet.)
Power on the AirLink gateway.
On the gateway, press the Reset button for more than 20 seconds. (Release the
button when the Power LED flashes amber.)
Launch your browser and enter the IP address and port number http://192.168.13.31:9191.
The “Upload package” screen appears:
Click Choose File and navigate to the appropriate ALEOS software version for your
gateway.
Click Update.
The screen lets you know that the update was successful and automatically reboots
the gateway.
When the reboot is complete, the gateway exits Recovery mode, and the ACEmanager
Login screen appears.
If you select an inappropriate version of ALEOS, an error message, such as the following
appears.
