Radio/Ethernet Bridging

Hello,

I am trying to set up an AirLink GX440 as Radio/Ethernet bridge. Basically I would like the GX440 to pass the IP address assigned by the Telco to the inside host and be a transparent bridge.

I have requested from the Telco a private APN with a class C network with static IP addresses. I have a gateway residing at 10.0.0.1/24. The problem that I have been encountering is that when the Telco assigns 10.0.0.6/24 to the GX440 passes it to the inside host and the GX440 uses 10.0.0.1/24. As you can see that presents a few problems with routing. I have tried to set up my desired scenario both with DHCP and statically set address.

My ideal set up would be like this:

10.0.0.1/24 10.0.0.6/24
router -- ethernet -- GX440 )) Telco Wireless (( GX440 -- ethernet -- router

This would allow me to do all my own internal routing.

But what I’m getting is more like this:

10.0.0.1/24 10.0.0.1/24 10.0.0.6/24
router -- ethernet -- GX440 )) Telco Wireless (( GX440 -- ethernet -- router

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Hello,

Is the Host Connection Mode on the GX440 already set to “Ethernet Uses Public IP” located in the LAN tab in AceManager? This should pass whatever IP address you are receiving from you Telco to the GX440 modem annd then to the router. If it is not it maybe a setting issue on the GX440 modem. Also you should be running on 4.4.1 firmware as there has been some fixes and enhancements to this feature.
