Need Help connecting using UART1

I am trying to connect to the Q24 + using UART1 and have followed the customer design document to do this but have not been able to use hyper terminal to interface with it as to date and have used the baud rates recommended, has anyone else had this problem?

what did you do to correct it, did you use the Max 323 chip and if so which one? What baud rate was used? I have used 9600 as well as 115200 as recommended by my distributor.

for a point of reference I am not using the dev kit

Just keep in mind that the module UART1 has 1.8V or 2.8V depending upon the IO . If you use more than this voltage to connect with module it may damage to it. You can make use of level shifter to use high voltage.
