Hi, i have an FX30 and i put a 4G Sim card in it. I know the FX30 can only utilize 3G, but this 4G sim card should still work in it right? The FX30 will just connect to 3G instead and be fine, correct?
I’m having issues getting connected to the internet.
If you need any other information just let me know, thanks!
Generically speaking, yes, LTE SIM’s are configured to work on LTE and 3G for a given network. The below AT commands should give you an idea as to what is happening.
at+cmee=1
ati
at+cpin?
at+cimi
at!gstatus?
at+cops?
at+cops=? //This will take a minute or so to complete
at+cgdcont?
at!pcinfo?
Where would i put these commands? My employer, Deif, is beginning to use these as a standard for a remote monitoring solution and we have our own setup page that probably differs from yours slightly (see screenshot).
If you have plugged into the USB port on the front of the device then you will have had 3 serial ports enumerate onto your Windows system (assuming you have installed the right drivers) you can then use a terminal program (like teraterm) to connect to the third port (it may have ‘AT commands’ written next to it or not) to send the commands to it.
Having looked at the IMSI number of the SIM 311480410727276, this tells me it is a Verizon SIM (311 US, 480 Verizon), unfortunately Verizon only operate an LTE (4G) network and the FX30 is 2G/3G, it is currently camped on 3G ("+COPS: 0,0,“Limited Service”,2") so it can probably see AT&T.
So that is your basic problem, you are trying to use a network that the FX30 is not desgined to work with.
