I see in the legato docs mention of flash burnout and in the data sheet for the FX30 series I see there is 50k or 100k writes to “Flash (reserved for app processor)” depending on the device. Is this the flash the file system is implemented in or the flash for the system image? Is there any type of wear leveling implemented? We are specifically interested in the FX30 with the WP7702 module.
The flash devices we use generically have 100K read/write cycles where we have wear leveling implemented in everything. Having said this I have never seen a device ‘wear out’.

Has there been any testing of flash writes in the FX30? We are looking at putting the device to sleep quite often and need to store some information.
FX30 is based on WP8548 and there will have been testing around this, as I stated I have never seen a unit wear out.

Matt
