When I try to update from ALEOS 4.8.0 to 4.9.3, it fails during the “Applying” stage with the following error: “Check failed: Could not find signature or certificate in the package”
I am trying to update my GX450s. My source is here: https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airlink/software_downloads/gx450/gx450-firmware-list/
Good day.
I was wondering if you ever found a fix for this.
We’re having the same issue.
Not really. I had to go to Sierra Wireless support and they set me up with AirVantage for free since we were dealing with a widespread firmware exploit. I was able to update most of my devices through the management tool.
I am trying to upgrade two GX450’s and am having the same problem. Just sent a message to Sierra Wireless technical support but seems like I need to work through a dealer or distributor which sucks because I don’t have any particular relationship with any one dealer or distributor.
Hi @golson,
Are you upgrading to the latest FW 4.9.4.p09? And what is the current FW running on your GX450?
Yes, trying to remotely update 2 GX450’s to ALEOS 4.94.p09 and keep getting a ‘Check failed: Could not find signature or certificate in the package.’ message. Both units have Radio version 55581 for VZW and are currently have ALEOS 4.9.3. Have also tried rolling back to an older ALEOS version and get the same message. Only thing I have’t tried is going out to each site and connecting directly to the GX450’s to try this but really shouldn’t have to. Thanks.
Hi @golson, I faced the same issue as yours when updating remotely via WAN IP. Do you have ALMS account or AMM? It is recommended to update remotely using either ALMS or AMM.
I have the same issue and it also fails when updating from ALMS! In ALMS the error is “unsupported package type”. UGH!
Hi @Mitzi.Smith,
For ease of tracking and narrowing down the issue, please create a new topic and provide more details about the issue you are encountering.
Thanks,
