Error 51 updating firmware on MC7305

Hi All

I have 3 machines that have MC7305 cards in them, they all detect the sim but they show no service

When I remove all the drivers and then reinstall the I get a popup saying failed error 51

I have also tried running the one click firmware updater for the card and get the same result

Is there a way to reload the firmware on these cards or are they toast?

Cheers

how about using the old Gobi driver and old SDK in linux?

SDK:

Thanks for your reply

I have been messing around with this on linux the last few hours and still not having much luck
it just does not seem to create any ports to connect to

Where do I find detailed instructions on how to set this up on linux?

you can see this document:
https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/linux-qmi-sdk-application-developer-guide-2,-d-,0/#sthash.RCXYpRYa.dpbs

The issue is that it does not seem to create any ports to connect to, in windows for instance all that shows in device manager is MC7305 under network adaptors and under sensors it shows the location sensor, but no com ports at all
Even when I try and do it in linux there are no ports

Have you seen this before?

probably this is hardware issue on the devices…

In linux, even you don’t install any USB driver, you will still see something in dmesg if the hardware is OK

Is there a guide on how to troubleshoot these cards?
I probably have about 40 Sierra Wireless cards that will not work properly varying from 7305 7430 7565
Each time I get a one that is not working I just replace it with another but I have accumulated quite a lot over the last few years and I would like to know if they are fixable or not

For instance just yesterday I had 2 more EM7535 cards that show firmware mismatch in putty but when I try and run the generic firmware windows exe it just fails

I am sure allot of the other EM7565 I have are the same

As said before, if you don’t see any message in linux, probably the module has hardware issue
Btw, have you contacted distributor?

Distributor? these are from used machines that are now out of warranty

then there is chance that they could have hardware issue, right?
