AirLink RV50 will not automatically reconnect to data network without being reset

Could you please clarify what you mean by “Automatically reconnect with the network”? Are you talking about reconnecting to cellular?

There are a few settings you should verify and/or set.

First, make sure “Cellular Watchdog” under "WAN/Cellular tab’s Cellular → General → Cellular Watchdog section is enabled. With this set, the entire router will reboot when connections to the cellular network fail. NOTE: In our fleet of 180 units, we have had fewer than 20 reboots for this cause in the last year.

Next, consider using the WAN/Cellular → Cellular → Monitor section. We have the default with the following changes: 'Monitor Type: ’ is ‘Ping Test’, ‘Ping Test IP address’: ‘’, ‘Link Recovery’: ‘Low Power Mode’ If you don’t have a reliable public IP address, I would suggest something like 8.8.8.8 which seems to be a very reliable IP address.

WIth the cellular monitor, when IP responses are not received, the cellular modem goes into low power mode and back into normal operation. This forces it to reconnect .

One final suggestion which may not be what you want to do, but tends to be very helpful. Start looking at the logs for the cellular. In the Admin → Log → Configure Logging, set everything to View In Logs as No, then set Cellular to Yes. Apply the changes. This will tell you to reboot, but ignore that. Then go to Admin → Logging → View Log. I typically download the log and use a good text editor to eliminate useless noise so I can find the important messages.
