3 RV50X Site to Site VPN Connection

I have 3 RV50x units: one acting as a server and the remaining two as clients. I’ve successfully established site-to-site VPN connections between the server and the two clients without any issues. During the setup, I used 3 different subnets for these units as follows:

Server: (I configured VPN1 between Server and Client 1, VPN2 between Server and Client 2) 192.168.13.32/24

Client 1 (VPN 1 Client 1 to Server) 192.168.14.32/24

Client 2 (VPN1- Client 2 to Server) 192.168.15.32/24

However, I have the following questions:

  1. Is it possible to configure all 3 RV50x units on the same subnet as below?

Server - 192.168.13.32/24, Client 1 - 192.168.13.33/24, Client 2 - 192.168.13.34/24

  1. On the server, can we configure it for a VPN tunnel between a laptop and the server (RV50x)? i.e., can I create one more VPN (VPN 3) to achieve this?"

Hi @J4521,

  1. “Is it possible to configure all 3 RV50x units on the same subnet as below?
    Server - 192.168.13.32/24, Client 1 - 192.168.13.33/24, Client 2 - 192.168.13.34/24”

→ Are you referring to setting the Local Address and Remote Address?

Two VPNs having the same Local Address and Remote Address will lead to Configuration Error.
Please refer to page 61 of the ALEOS 4.17.1 Software Configuration User Guide for AirLink RV50X at the following link: https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airlink/software_reference_docs/airlink-rv-series---configuration-guide/#sthash.SRBKvwqX.dpbs

  2. “On the server, can we configure it for a VPN tunnel between a laptop and the server (RV50x)? i.e., can I create one more VPN (VPN 3) to achieve this?”

→ The RV50X Airlink gateway acting as a VPN IPsec Server can only support VPN tunnel with another Airlink gateway acting as the peer VPN client.
You cannot configure it between a laptop and the RV50X.

Thanks,
