It is in the nature of M2M projects that they are likely to have very long lifetimes - therefore it is imperative that Wavecom maintain availability of and support for previous releases!
It is today not planned to convert (since a conversion is actually needed) all legacy packages to make them available on the repository. As you can imagine, this would be a very huge work…
But we are aware of that, and we will neither stop supporting these releases with M2M Studio, nor stop providing them on the web site.
When selecting a given package in the package manager’s Available Packages view, the property view is updated with data related to this package.
If the package provides a relase note, a specific “Release Note” tab is available in this view to consult the release note directly (you will need to login first). You can also maximize the property view to consult the release note in full screen.
Some packages still don’t provide release notes under this format, but this should be corrected in next releases.
thanks, but it’s pointing to the wrong release note?
… ah!
the the 2.31 page is showing the wrong contents. it shows the 2.30 package! wavecom.com/releasenotes/oasis/2.31
any idea where to get older firmware versions?
since the website doesn’t seem to provide them anymore…
(specifically the 7.3.0 version. i think it was in the 6.20 suite)
On http://www.sierrawireless.com, you can go to products and services, Air Prime, Legacy Products. Then select your wavecom device from the list on the left, and click on the support downloads link to go to the familiar (re-branded) wavecom product page.
The Q2686 may not have been retired, but if you want old firmware, you need to look on the old wavecom site. To get there, you need to follow the links described above (but select a different wavecom product), you can then click on the products link and select the Q2686, and then go to the archives (don’t forget to log in otherwise the lists will be empty).
