Trying to install FW bundle fails with "Not in IDLE state" and "lwm2m.upgrade.device.not.ready"

Hi, I am trying to flash the FW of a device in the field. It is responsive but seems to have reverted to some factory default state (i.e. my installed apps and legato build are gone). It is giving a heartbeat… but I struggle with the rest…

When trying to re-flash the stock FW it fails. It start… but never seems to proceed to download the FW… Any thoughts on what is happening and how it could be rectified would be appreciated…

Hi karlkuhn,

This issue may come from your previous firmware. Please try to install the latest fw manually:

  1. Cancel all jobs in Airvantage.
  2. Download FDT tool for window at https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/fdt/#sthash.oov2ENPK.dpbs
  3. Your device is FX30s . So download the package at https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airlink/software_downloads/fx30-firmware/fx30-firmware/#sthash.iyhb3tc6.2NPnGANS.dpbs
  4. Use FDT tool to install the package downloaded at step 3.

Hi @jerdung , thanks for the reply. Is there anyway I could recover this device via AirVantage. It is on another continent…

I need to have it returned to us to be able to perform the above.

Hi karlkuhn,

Please cancel all jobs on Airvantage and update the firmware again. If it fails, updating manually is the only way.
