SL6078 - Development kit led D601 does not light up

Hi,

I am trying to setup Development kit 1400746-B with SL6078.

I have done setup by quick start instructions and i get green light for module recognition (D1501) but D601 does not light up no matter what.
Is this mandatory in order to get dev kit to work?

At least i can’t get port connected via USB adapter although port is recognized.

Thanks for advance!

Hi,

I cannot seem to find a D601 on the board so can you tell me approximately where you are referring to?

With regards getting the unit powered up I have attached an image of my dev kit which will automtically power an SL6087 up in the dev kit. You can tell if the unit is powering up by the LED in the LED secition of the board (top left of the attached picture), if it is solid the unit is powered on but not attached if it is flashing it means the unit is attached to the network.

Re the USB not sure what you mean by ‘it is recognised’? Depending on the firmware version you may need to enable the USB to send AT commands to it, to do this send at+wmfm=0,1,3,1.

Matt

Hi Matt,

D601 is the LED on top right of the attached picture. It is not lighting up at all for me. I attached pic of the board below.

By usb i mean UART1 using usb adapter. And when i’m trying to open port I get time out for everything.

Thanks.

Hannu,

I have found the schematics and while having the LED you are referring to illuminating is not a pre requisite (it does not form part of the critical circuitry) it is not a good indication, one side of the LED goes from the power connector through a resistor to ground. This does not mean the rest of the PSU is not seeing the voltage. Step one would be to use TP right next to the power connector to see if there is voltage, if there is nothing on there (very bad sign) then go around the PSU components, if there is nothing then I would suggest the power connector is broken.

Hi Matt,

It works now!
Problem was VBAT. It was not totally connected as can be seen from the picture i posted earlier ( on top right ).

Thanks!

A classic problem!
