One of our LX40 modems just stopped sending sms messages, Verizon is saying that everything looks good at their end. We didn’t make any changes to it. Any ideas?
Hi @bahloul,
Could you please get the log and template log by the instructions and send me to investigate this issue:
1.The configuration template file is in ACEmanager → Template, provide any name you desire for the Template Name, and then press Download to retrieve the template file.
2.Collect logs procedure:
a. Go AceManager > Admin > Configure Logging
-
Set all log levels to DEFAULT (NOTICE)
-
Set Linux Syslog to DISPLAY
b. Reboot the gateway.
c. Perform your test again.
d. Go Admin → View log → Download Logs.
Thanks,
The issue started few days ago. I did upgrade to the latest firmware but no luck.
Attached are the logs from the device.

Hi @bahloul,
Could you please try the following test:
Go to ACEmanager > Services > SMS > Advanced, change the “SMS Message Format” setting to “3GPP” for the SIM.
SMS now uses the 3GPP message format, instead of the previous “CDMA” message format. The “Default” setting (which is the ALEOS default setting) internally uses the CDMA message format for Verizon, but this is no longer compatible with received SMS messages.
Please let us know whether this resolves the issue.
Thanks,
That didn’t help, is it possible to have someone troubleshoot this with me live.
