Is it possible to connect an EM9293 modem to an android phone as an external modem?

I’m thinking of connecting an EM9293 modem to an Android phone using USB adapters, and I want to know if it would be possible for the phone to recognize and use the EM9293 for cellular service (LTE) instead of its own modem.

I’m wondering because I saw that EM9293 has Android RIL drivers.
