Hi, We are planing on using BC127 on one of our products.
According to https://source.sierrawireless.com BC127 is recommended for new designs, but digikey website says that it is NOT recommended for new designs.
I want to clarify whether it is in fact recommended for new designs.
Thank you,
Dmitri K
Hi DmitriK,
On Sierra website, they recommend the new design for their products.
But on Digikey website, a distributor, it’s different. You can refer to the statuses here:
Thanks,
Hi @jerdung,
Thank you for your post but it does not really answer my question.
is BC127 recommended for new designs or not? Who is right Sierra Wireless or DigiKey?
Thank you,
Dmitri K
Hi DmitriK,
All information about a product is officially public on the Sierra Wireless page. That means you should follow the Sierra page.
Some distributor pages have information that is not up-to-date. Before buying something from a distributor, you should ask them about the product.
Thanks,
Hi @jerdung,
We just a reply from our distributor and according to it BC127 is approaching EOL and is not recommended for new designs. Which is very unfortunate as BC127-EXT was perfectly matching requirements.
Best regards,
Dmitri K
I’m not sure that’s correct, but to answer your original query, Digi-Key has P/N BC127-1103383 as NRFD because that’s a really old part number that comes with Melody 5. They don’t stock it, but BC127_1104323 is still active and comes without CVC or aptX but does have Melody 7.3 installed. I got this data from a distributor a while back:
