All,
I have been using Sierra Wireless products for a number of years now. Up to this point I have been able to configure the onboard hardware for our systems with numeric IP addresses in order to reach the offboard servers via the cell modems. The problem is that we are now using DNS names for our servers (non-static) and our onboard HW does not support DNS. Long story short, it will take considerable time for us to work the necessary additions back into the onboard HW so that it can use DNS.
My question is this: Is it possible to use a given static IP address within the onboard HW and have the Sierra Wireless modem port forward the “outbound” traffic to a given server (DNS named)? Does native functionality exist to make this happen? If not, would it be possible to develop custome software through ALEOS to make this funcationality happen?
Thanks for any thoughts and suggestions.
