How it works? 4G or 5G modem with M2 and integrated eSIM

Hello,
I am a project manager and I would like to know how to use an eSIM. We have an M2 Key B slot available on an evaluation board, and we would like to test a 4G or 5G modem with an integrated eSIM. Is this possible? Could you provide me with references for Sierra modems with integrated eSIM and the method for adding an eSIM profile (via AT commands or other)? The goal is to eliminate the physical SIM card in order to easily switch operators. We use Linux.

Thank you

Jonathan

you can consider these modules which contains consumer eSIM:
EM9291 EM9293

And you need to contact Thales to sign a license agreement to obtain and use the Thales LPA SDK so that you can communicate with the eSIM inside the module

Hello jyijyi,

Thank you for reply.
Does this allow connection to all eSIM providers worldwide?
Is there an other solution than the Thales LPA SDK to manage eSIM profils?

Thank you

The eSIM supports the standard “commercial eSIM” provisioning model - where carriers have a QR code that customers scan with their phone/laptop.
I remember it works in Windows

Is it possible to use the mmcli (ModemManager) tool on Linux to communicate with Sierra modems and manage profiles?

I remember the SDK uses AT+CSIM to communicate with the module
