Hi johnofleek,
Does this issue happen on the previous FW? Just only “AT+CGDCONT=?” or is there any command that has that kind of response?
Thanks,
Hi Jerdung
It would take me a long time to create an AT command validation test rig I was kind of hoping that sort of testing would be carried out by SW.
For interest the only reason I was trying at+cgdcont=? is that I didn’t understand why context 3 was erroring. Having at+cgdcont=? would have been useful as it turns out that there is a whole story behind the two contexts.
Some other random =? commands to the modem - note the at+wppp=? response
at+kusbpcomp=?
+CME ERROR: 4
at+ccid=?
+CCID: 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
OK
at=?
+CME ERROR: 4
at+cgreg=?
+CGREG: (0,1,2,4)
OK
at+WPPP=?
+WPPP: (0-2),(1-2)
OK
Couple of points I presume you are doing this over USB again? Need to be clear about this as it can affect certain things i.e. messing with serial port settings when on USB might not do what you expect. Also some of the ‘random commands’ you sent are not actually valid i.e. at+kusbpcomp=? I guess you meant at+kusbcomp?, also at=?, not a valid command.
I have done what you did above and it worked fine, I am also assuming you are using the 4.6.9.4 official release.

The root of this tread / question is just about AT+CGDCONT=? failing on my HL7802.
My HL7802 reports the following FW version
ati9
HL7802.4.6.9

Looking at Matt’s attachment it looks as if the issue is something specific to my module , maybe a previous setting on older FW, has broken AT+CGDCONT=? … Everything else appears to be functional on my module. For example it can connect to the network and establish PPP sessions.
The tests in my previous post are in response to jerdung’s request asking if I could test other AT xxxx=? commands. The limited set I tested didn’t fail too badly (except maybe CCID failed a bit). This makes me think AT+CGDCONT=? may be one of a small set of failures. Maybe caused by a missing ‘\0’ or similar C pointer issue.
I agree that some of the commands I tested are not valid. However it would be a shame if the module crashed if we sent it a bad command . The module didn’t crash for at+kusbpcomp=? or AT=? just responded with an error code which is a good thing.
Sorry I didn’t test AT+CGDCONT=? on the previous FW version
For interest - here is
at+kusbcomp=?
+KUSBCOMP: (0-1),(0-5),(0-5),(0-5)
OK
