HL7688 does not allow the IMSI to switch properly and SIM OTA update

We have device with HL7688 and it work before with one IMSI.

Now cell provider introduced “super” SIM that has multiple IMSI but it is not able to switch to second one.
After “AT+COPS=0” I am constantly receiving “+CME ERROR:111” and some times “+CME ERROR:112”
The same issue with HL8548.

Is there the setting that I need to activate to get it working?

My second issue that HL7688 does allow SIM OTA update but HL8548 does.
I tried to allow SIM toolkit but did not help.

Thanks a lot,
Sergey.

Hi @sergey1

Did you use Sierra Wireless Smart SIM? Which Sierra Wireless Smart SIM version are you using?
Which HL7688 firmware version are you using?

Hi @Donald,

I have issue with new Twilio SUPER SIM.
They require IMSI switching since they allowing multiply carriers with SUPER SIM.

Their original SIM works correctly with HL8548 since it allows only T-Mobile (or roaming).

Also they want to push OTA update to their SIMs but it does not work for HL7688 (works for HL8548)

The firmware version:

Hi @sergey1

This issue is related to super SIM.

In your case, Please contact your reseller or distributor directly for technical support.

After that, you need to provide STT and APDU log for further investigation.

Hi @Donald,

I contacted Twilio before I posted my question on the forum.
I looks like it is modem specific issue since other modem (Cinterion EHS5)
is working fine.

How to get STT and APDU log?
Is it specific command to modem that returns it or Twilio should have it on their side?

Thanks,
Sergey.

Hi @sergey1

In your case, the best way is to get support is through your commercial channel.(who you bought the HL7688). They will then show you how to get traces with their requirements.
