I have several GX450 modems that are on firmware version 4.9.4 Build Number p09. I have been tasked with updating these. They are all in use and attached in various locations on our circuit. My question is I see there is also Radio Module Firmware, do I need to update this along with the ALEOS Firmware or is it all updated together? I need to get this right I don’t want to have to retrieve one because I bricked it lol.
Hi @rhutson,
Welcome to our community!
How would you like to perform the firmware update? Locally or Over-the-Air?
Typically, when updating locally, after you browse to the ALEOS software, click Update, and the ALEOS software update runs automatically. Green checkmarks will appear beside each step as it is completed.
After that, depending on the gateway and your Mobile Network Operator, you may be prompted to update the radio module firmware.
If you do not receive a prompt, it means that the radio firmware is up to date.
Please refer to the “Update the ALEOS Software and Radio Module Firmware” section on pages 26-30 of the Software Configuration Guide at the following link: https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airlink/software_reference_docs/airlink-aleos-configuration-guide-for-gx450/#sthash.VQj0WUIV.dpbs
Thanks,
