I had trouble upgrading the firmware on one of the modems. I uploaded the dwl.dwl file and started uploading the R7.52.0_fxt009.dwl file and I kept receiving a message similar to “modem cleared connection” using ClearTerminal. Admittedly I was connected via a USB cable.
My modem now seems to do nothing the red light is permanently on and I can not connect to the modem with USB and only serial, yet all commands again now only respond with error again.
Is there a way I can fix this, sorry to be a pain. Also I had two entries under Modems in computer management, there is now only one LSI HDA Modem
Updating firmware causes the unit to reboot. When the unit reboots, it restarts the USB - which the PC will see as the unit being unplugged, and then plugged back in again. Many PC apps do not cope well with this…
Hence the suggestion from lotam to use the UART instead…
Yes Lotam, I was executing the following commands:-
at+wopen=0
at+wdwl
at+cfun=1
at+wopen=1
but each command just returns “ERROR”. This is the same when using UART. It seems the only commands that return a response are:-
at (OK) and ati3 (LSI SoftModem Version 2.2.100)
also whenever I run a “query modem” from the modem properties diagnostics tab in windows, those queries work too.
I understand what you mean awneil as I could see this happening but made a silly assumption that it would be ok. Is there a way to force a reset on the device?
You are 100% correct, I had failed to notice what I was doing and assumed a connection to FXT009.
I have since connected and successfully upgraded the firmware now on the first mode.
I moved on to the second modem, but ran in to a similar issue where it receives an error when downloading the file R7.52.0_fxt009.dwl have successfully downloaded dwl.dwl and reset the module with UART.
It always stops at the exact same point 958kBytes - “Cancelled by receiver”. I can execute certain commands AT(OK), ATI3(R7.43.3.201306260837.FXT009 1713240 062613 08:37)
AT+WOPEN=0 returns an error. I have noticed something different but don’t think it is a problem but whenever I reset this module, it will POST:-
at+cfun=1
OK
+WIND: 13
+WIND: 1
+WIND: 16
+WIND: 4
+WIND: 10,“SM”,0,“ON”,0,“EN”,0
+WIND: 11,“FECA527AAC927BEFBCB861C6865816B3”,
I have tried various protocols, XModem-1K, XModem and different flow control. Admittedly I know very little about these.
I have managed to get it to work. Very strange, by cancelling a download of the R7.52.0_fxt009.dwl file and then downloading the dwl.dwl file and then the R7.52.0_fxt009.dwl it manages to download the whole file and resets fine with new firmware:-
