EM7565: How to setup & Configure Data connection in CentOS 7

Hi,

EM7565 module is connected to CentOS 7, i was able to see the module is detected, executed the AT commands in the ttyUSB port, activated the APN profile 1 and i could see the IP address assigned(AT+CGPADDR=1).

  1. After inserting the module WWAN interface is not showing up, is it expected?
  2. How to make IP(APN assigned) visible to WWAN interface? or How to setup PPP(Dial up) connection?

Appreciate your inputs!

Regards,
Mohanraj

Did you install gobinet driver?
Did you use at!scact to activate data channel?

Thanks for quick response!
I have not installed Gobinet? Is it mandatory?
I used at+act command to activate pdp

yes, you need to install Gobinet driver and you need to use AT!SCACT to activate the data channel.

Hi, I’m getting error when trying to activate, also when i’m doing attach(at+cgatt=1) its automatically activating the profile 1, also i’m not able to deactivate with at+cgact=0,1 too,

Welcome your suggestions, what i’m missing here!

there is no need to touch +CGACT.
Just type AT!SCACT=1,1

I’m getting below error,
AT!SCACT=1,1
+CME ERROR: no network service

then your module is not yet registered to network.

But, when i’m trying to check the CGPADDR=1 i’m getting IP, CGACT? output is 1,1?

what is the return of AT!USBCOMP?

Getting error,

AT!USBCOMP?
ERROR

you need to type at!entercnd=“A710” first

Here the output,
AT!USBCOMP?

Not sure what i’m missing here, Do you have procedure/document how to setup after connecting module with centOS to till making PPP connection Establishment, it will be great help!

PPP is old technolgy, it might not be fully supported by the module.
But in case you still want to try, you can try wvdial tool.
I used this tool for PPP dial up in ubuntu PC. (not sure if you have this tool in CetOS 7)

In centOS also we have wvdial and i tried too, but after carrier detected - connected, i’m getting error saying call failed. actually i need to check DL throughput using iPerf, in order to run the iPerf server in host machine i need APN assigned IP should be visible in the host centOS, some suggestions on this will help.

Suggest you trying with other operator as ppp and scact all failed with your sim

Which version GobiNet and Gobiserial we need to use for EM7565? Can you give the link is possible?
