EM7455 sim detect functionality

Hi,
we have planned to use your EM7455 cellular modules.
but our SIM card connector does not have any sim detect functionality, so can we just leave the SIM DETECT pin in the module floating.

the module datasheet says,
if SIM not inserted connect the SIM detect pin to gnd
if SIM is inserted keep the detect pin floating(it has an internal pull up)
so if i keep the SIM detect pin flating it will always be in SIM detect state so will it function properly?
if it will not work this way can i give a module reset to make it work properly?

Rohith,

I believe that if you power the unit up with the SIM attached and the SIM detect line left floating it will work. If you remove and re insert a different SIM it will require a power cycle or if you power up without a SIM and then insert it again it will not detect it and it will require a cycle.

Rohith,

Yes, you need to reset/power cycle the unit either using the hardware pins or at+cfun=1,1 (or the QMI API).
