I am trying to connect my PC to the internet using a SIM from Verizon.
For some reason I am getting No Service despite having a Verizon phone that does get service. I’ve attached and reattached antennas and tried installing the drivers.
The network shows Forbidden in Windows settings

Thanks Donald for the reply. I am new to this… How would I input these AT commands in Windows? I have my card connected via a usb adapter
Hi andrew5,
Firstly, you need to install the driver windows for EM7455
Windows Drivers for EM/MC Series Modules (Build 5087)
Then you can use Sierra Wireless Snapdragon™ X7 LTE-A WWAN Modem port to input AT command.
I have attached the screenshot below for your reference.
Thank you for the screenshot. Unfortunately I do not have a modem section, only network devices and I dont see a port specified. Any ideas?
Hi Donald,
I am now trying with a Sierra Wireless Airprime EM7565 and my computer is now recognizing the unit as a modem.
Now the issue is that I cant turn on Cellular on Windows for some reason.
Here are the responses to the commands you sent.

Hi andrew5 ,
From your log file, the module can register the network successfully.
Please share the output of following commands:
Pease try manually entering AT!ENTERCND="A710"
, do not copy and paste the command, it may have error “”

AT!USBCOMP?
Hi Donald -
For AT!ENTERCND=“A710”
I get “Password protected commands are unlocked”
For AT!USBCOMP?
I get

Also weirdly now I can’t see any network and the network is called “Cellular 18” and is Turned Off in Windows Settings now
Hi Donald,
More updates. I tried the EM 7455 with a T-mobile SIM just now and it worked fine right away.
However it is still not working with the Verizon SIM. I get No Service no matter what I try. Is it possible this device is locked? It seems like it should support Verizon, correct?
Thank you so much for your assistance with this. I very much appreciate it!
Hi Donald-
Any ideas on this? I still cannot get Verizon SIMs to work on this module.
I tried 2 different Verizon SIMs on the EM7565 and EM 7455 and neither works with Verizon, even though both cards should support Verizon.
I will need to find a card that supports Verizon, AT&T, and T-mobile before I can order several hundred of these for my company. Thanks!
Hi andrew5 ,
Please try installing firmware Verizon into the module.
Hi Donald,
Are there steps to install the Verizon firmware on this card?
Ive now tested these cards with a Quectel module and T-mobile and Verizon 5G both worked.
Thanks for your help with this!
More specifically, is there a way to update or reset the firmware so that AT&T (FirstNet), NTT Docomo, T-Mobile, and Verizon cards will all work? Thank you
Hi andrew5,
You can download and install the firmware Verizon EM7455, EM7565 here
AirPrime EM/MC74xx Approved FW Packages
EM75xx Approved FW Packages
Surprised that the Quectel worked out of the box on Verizon if ours did , it should be treated the same as the EM7565. Basically Verizon do a lot of linking of unit IMEI’s to application certifications i.e. if your application is not certified to work on their network then it will not allow you to attach, its nothing to do with the unit its to do with authentication on the network (even if you are using an approved Verizon firmware package). Your handset works because it see’s the IMEI of the handset which is approved.
TMO and AT&T are far less strict about this sort of thing.
Regards
Matt
Thanks Donald! Is there also firmware for the EM9191? I have been trying to get that one to work and also have not had luck.
Will one of these firmware packages allow the card to support all carriers? (Like an unlocked mode?) We would like our customers to BYO SIM card. Thank you!
Hi andrew5,
You can download the firmware EM9191 here
EM9190/EM9191/EM7690 Approved FW Packages
You can use firmware Generic to support all carriers.
Thanks Donald! I will try this out. Do you have step by step instructions somewhere on installing the firmware? I have not installed firmware before. Thank you!
Hi Donald,
I tried installing the Generic firmware but I keep getting an installation failed error
Here are the steps I followed
- Downloaded and installed the latest EM 9191 driver (SDX55 file)
- Downloaded the FDT tool
- Dropped the FDT.exe tool into the same folder as the Generic Firmware
- CD’d into the Generic firmware directory
- Ran the command fdt2.exe -f a.cwe
- Received a note that the program is waiting for the appropriate connection
- Connected USB module with Airprime EM9191
- Got the message that firmware installation failed.
I tried both methods of connecting the module after Step 6, and having the module connected the entire time and both failed. Am I doing something wrong? Please let me know, thanks!
