Hello, I have Lenovo x260, came out without wwan card, so I purcshase second hand, allegedly from another x260 which is for the same (scandinavian) market.
After I insert card into slot, I started laptop and I receive 1082 error which is something white/black list of lenovo supported wwan cards.
. I manage to start laptop with card inserted via sleep mode and those are some info I have from cmd:

Hi,

Please do check Product technical Specification 7 Customer Design Guidelines and believe pin #20 should be taped. This pin actually for hardware “Hardware radio state” where currently set to OFF whilst from software already at ON.

Hi,

Based on all information provided, looks like you’ve used “DW5811e” Sierra Wireless LTE for DELL not LENOVO and believe that why that 1802 errors were come out. I couldn’t confirm here might be I’m wrong.

Regards,

Hello,
What do you recommend to try? To blank pin20?

20 NC (For audio interface pin usage, see Audio Support on page 71.) Reserved—Host must not repurpose this pin.

Hi,

Sorry, I wrongly mentioned actually that #20 is for MC series, and believe for EM series should be pin #8 (something about radio). I had mentioned another info regarding Sierra EM model which currently for DELL not LENOVO.

Regards,

This one is 8, correct?
I tried 20 before, but didnt work.
I will try now

Are you sure it is 8. Looks like it does not work either.
Or maybe I blank the pin perfectly.

The other problem is that I can not make card working when I bypass 1082error, from sleep mode. I see option for wwan from win interface, but it is shaded.

Hi,

I’ve tested MC7304 on Lenovo X220T with taped pin #20 where currently working fine. Device Manager should showing USB Adapter, Modem, Network Adapter and Ports for that EM7455. Based on your input, that LTE brand name is not for LENOVO but for DELL that why 1082 errors was shown. Because X260 is running with latest O/S (Windows 10) where by default your EM7455 was configured with Windows MBIM.

Wireless Disable (main RF radio) : For MC series are representing by pin #20 whilst for EM series are representing
by pin #8. Pin #26 is representing for GNSS Radio. I believe tape
pin #8 is enough because it behaves if low power then “physical” wireless
is disabled.

Please refer to below image and I believe your EM7455 card falls under M.2 B Key.

This is wwan card

I tape this one, but still nothing

Hello,

Have a nice day. That EM7455 model is for DELL not LENOVO, but anyway you can try. The #8 pin actually on 4th rows from left (bottom) (Please refer to that B Key Image).

Hello All,

Just to inform EM7455 could be installed on Lenovo X220/X220T where BIOS whitelists was removed. I’ve tested for MC7455 without any luck even though had followed an info from someone to tape 4th USB 3.0 pins. I could install EM7455 with success without do anything except have to install PCI-E to M.2 NGFF converter. Another thing is has to buy another MHF4 antennas.

Regards,
