So I bought a adapter off ebay and installed it, this shows in device manager as per the below
Why is there the bottom 3? and how do i resolve it.
I keep seeing things about send AT commands and i know how to use putty, but theres nothing to say what com port its on
Also how can you tell if it is carrier locked e.g. Vodafone / EE?
thanks

Yeah i found the onscreen one,
but its still same, tried drivers from that page both lenovo and dell, both say not intended for this PC even though its a Dell

Finally done it
So first off from the below, make a bootable Ubuntu USB
Then open terminal and run sudo minicom -s
Change the serial settting to /dev/ttyUSBX2
save changes to default and exit
Now type these, the text wont appear on screen but jsut pres enter after each and it should return OK
AT!ENTERCND=“A710”
AT!USBPID=9071,9070
AT!USBVID=1199
AT!USBPRODUCT=“EM7455”
AT!PRIID=“9904802”,“001.001”,“Generic-Laptop”
AT!RESET
then reboot to windows and install generic drivers and firmware
