Connection issue with MC7455

Hi everyone,

I want to setup my MC7455 to use 4G on my computer. I’m with a Vodafone provider in Luxembourg and using the connection manager.

Right now the SIM card is definitely detected, but it’s endlessly searching for network… I really don’t know if I set it up wrong.

A few more info :

  • 4836 generic drivers
  • vodafone firmware (latest)
  • profile : all set to default values (no username, no password)

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

what are the return of the followings?

BTW, does it work with the GENERIC PRI with latest FW?

do you need to enter the APN for profile 1?
e.g
AT+CGDCONT=1,“IP”,“APN_test”

AT+CGDCONT=1,“IP”,“APN_test” returns an error.

I don’t know if it answers your question though

be careful of the double quote character "

You already get error on AT!ENTERCND=“A710”

AT!entercnd="A710"

ERROR
Command error…

With correct double quote :

AT!entercnd=“A710”
OK

AT+CGDCONT=1,“IP”,“APN_test”
ERROR
Command error…

I don’t see problem:

Any clue why it isn’t connecting?

Am I setting the profile wrongly in Skylight manager?

you can try to close skylight and see if you can modify profile

You can also try in linux PC and see if you can modify the APN

I don’t know how I should define username, password, APN, etc.

did you check with network provider Vodafone?

No I didn’t check with the network provider.

Which information should I get from them?

username, password, APN

I got the information from the provider, but they were all correct.

What’s weird is that I have two other computers with exact same configuration and it works on those two computers, the only thing that changed is the firmaware.

On the two working computer, the firmware was installed a few years ago :
9999999_9904930_SWI9X30C_02.24.03.00_00_VODAFONE_001.001_000

but I can’t install it now on this new computer that I am trying to set.

It says “Firmware download failed”

I am thinking if we can reproduce the exact same configuration, it should work.

Any clue how I can install this older version of the vodafone firmware?

do you mean you have three MC7455 on three PC?

On the two working computer, the firmware was:
9999999_9904930_SWI9X30C_02.24.03.00_00_VODAFONE_001.001_000

On the NOK PC, the firmware of the MC7455 is SWI9X30C_02.24.03.00 with PRI
001.001_002.
