Cannot FW update EM7565 Modem (LiveU Solo Pro connect 4G Modem)

Hi, i have bought two LiveU Solo pro connect modems which have the EM7565 controller onboard. I wanted to upgrade them as they show a pretty old firmware:

LiveU said they cannot upgrade these modems and i have to contact Sierra Wireless Support.

When i try to upgrade with the windows EXE file i get the error 14 - no MBN Adapter available.

I try to flash this firmware:

Generic SWI9X50C_01.14.22.00 002.057_000 -Carrier Approved—Release 21.1

What can i do to upgrade the very old firmware? I really need to ugprade it as it also shows wrong carrier names (e.g. in Germany it says “E-Plus” instead of “o2”. There is no E-Plus anymore as it has been rebranded to o2)

I would appreciate any help so i can upgrade the old FW.

Did you install usb driver?
What did you see in device manager?

EM9191 FDT2.exe multiple firmware and PRI image loading

Ok so it seems like the exe is using -ignswto and -d g5k I have no idea what the first one does, but I added it. The second one just causes all of the flashes to fail with “No MBN adapter available”. Removing it makes it work again… Unfortunately the -ignswto didn’t help, I still get no firmware images loaded after the flash. I am now doing this: fdt2.exe -ignswto -f SWI9X50C_01.14.24.00.cwe SWI9X50C_01.14.22.00.cwe SWI9X50C_01.14.22.00_GENERIC_002.057_000.nvu SWI9X50C_01.14.22.00_ATT_002.071…

Wooohoo. That was it! Installing the modem drivers did the trick and i could successfully upgrade the firmware:
