I am wondering if any of the EM/MC series modules support VoLTE voice calling? Does it require any specific firmware - i wonder.

VoLTE has supported on a specific operator network and SKU with EM/MC series.
If you want to use VoLTE, you need to contact your commercial channel or below websites to know if it available for you.
