Sirius XM Satellite

Continuing the discussion from Interference:

Hello

Thank you very much for your replies. Many car stereo systems have Sirius XM satellite radio embedded in them. In the effort of posing a more focused question, is it possible for S-Band frequencies (those used by Sirius XM) to somehow communicate with Sierra wireless routers/gateways? Is it possible there exists a defined communication protocol to allow for an interface between these devices?

Thank you

Hi tikilight,

The S-band is a designation by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for a part of the microwave band of the electromagnetic spectrum covering frequencies from 2 to 4 gigahertz (GHz). Wireless network equipment compatible with IEEE 802.11b and 802.11g standards use the 2.4 GHz section of the S-band.

The Sierra Wireless gateway provides Wi-Fi configuration capabilities and support for the Wi-Fi model of
AirLink router. Enable b/g/n (default) (for 2.4 GHz band).
The user guide and configuration guide documents are posted at Sierra source to deliver all detailed information of the Sierra gateways. Please refer to them for more information.
