Simple Tracking Application using Q52

Hi, I am trying to run “Simple Tracking Application using Q52” (WA_DEV_ASSM_APN_001) on a Q52 Omni Plus Module. I am able to set up the GPRS connection but when I try to send PVT e-mail the module doesn’t proceeds.

After some trouble shooting I came to the following Observations:

[size=150]b[/b][/size] The GPS Library API Function erGpsCoreTask, always returns zero in gpsDataAvailMask variable in the following line of code.

gpsDataAvailMask = erGpsCoreTask(rxbuffer, rx_bytes_in);

This indicates that there is no new information with the GPS Core to report. Hence the following condition always fails and sends no e-mail.

if (gpsDataAvailMask & ER_PVT_AVAIL)

If I by-pass this ‘if’ condition in code the module sends an e-mail but without position information.

[size=150]b[/b][/size] Furthermore, if I start the application without inserting the SIM, the API Function gpsDataAvailMask returns non-zero values, hence the condition if (gpsDataAvailMask & ER_PVT_AVAIL) comes true and the application sends raw NMEA frames on Remote Shell. This indicates that there is a change in the functionality of the GPS Core when the SIM is inserted or when it is registered on the GSM Network.

I am unable to figure out, why the GPS Core stops working, when the SIM is there in the module. Have anybody gone through this problem before?
