Release 17 Read-only file system

I’ve been playing around with the WP76xx on the latest release 17.
Suddenly the yocto linux has become read-only. I’ve tried to flash different images onto it to fix it but nothing is working.
I’ve tried swiflash -t wp76xx -r which doesn’t work, and I can’t downgrade to older releases like 12 where -r works perfectly.
Any advice on how to make it read write again?

does this help on resetting userapp partition?
(Be careful of the mtd number, different FW might have different mtd number for userapp partition !!! )

According to the release note of fw r12, QTI9X07-2870 is to fix userapp partition being erased which is security hole.
